Digipak Analysis - Steven Hegarty

The first thing you notice about this album cover is the bright colours and strange image in the centre. This shows that the cover is very imaginative and aims to stand out. The font used for the band name and album name is very ordinary, but it is all in capital letters and italics. The band name is bold where as the album name is not, this could be so the person buying the product notices that this is the band that they like before reading the name of the album. I think the relationship between the words and image isn't very ordinary as the words are quite a plain font but the image is a little bit strange.

The colour scheme for the back of the album is very bright and eye catching, but the way the words are against the different colours makes some of them a little bit hard to read. The words have an ordinary font but are capitals and are diagonal across the page. They are also in different colours which relates well to the colour scheme of the album. You can see 'Sony Music' in the right hand corner of the page which tells us that this band is quite mainstream as the institution itself is mainstream.

This CD stands out a little bit from the rest of the album as it does not continue the bright, eye catching colour scheme that is used on the album covers. These colours are quite dull and the layout of the CD is not as strange as the covers. The only thing that is kept the same is the style of writing which is capitals and italics. 'Sony Music' is also on the front of the CD as it is a very big institution in the music industry.
