Firstly I opened a photograph of myself in photoshop, this was my first layer.
I then added a layer and renamed it 'hair'. Using the lasso tool i went round the edge of my hair in the photo. I then chose the colour of my hair and filled it in using the paint bucket tool.
Next I created another new layer and renamed this 'face'. Again using the lasso tool i drew round the edge of my face and then filled it with the paint bucket tool after choosing the correct colour.
After this i created a new layer and renamed it 'features'. I selected the pencil tool, increased the size of it and then created two circles where my eyes were. I then filled these in black. Once again using the pencil tool i selected the white colour and did two smaller sized dots inside of the black dots. Staying on this layer, i then selected the lasso tool to draw round my eyebrows. After holding the shift key and drawing round both eyebrows I selected the paint bucket tool and filled the brows in the colour I selected. I then used the lasso tool again to draw around my nostrils and my mouth, i then filled these in with appropriate colours.
I then selected the 'face' layer and began to draw a black line around my face after selecting the paintbrush tool.
Next i created two new layers and renamed them 'neck' and 'ears'.
